Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CardAPI service, including the API, website, and developer portal (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Service Provided As-Is
The CardAPI Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.
Data Accuracy
Credit card data served through the CardAPI is sourced from issuer websites via automated extraction. While we make reasonable efforts to keep data current and accurate, we do not guarantee that any data point — including rewards rates, annual fees, benefits, or application criteria — is complete, accurate, or up to date.
Always verify critical information directly with the card issuer before making financial decisions. CardAPI is not a financial advisor and nothing in the Service constitutes financial advice.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service in any way that:
- Involves scraping or bulk-downloading API responses to build a competing credit card database or data product
- Exceeds the rate limits associated with your subscription tier
- Involves sharing, reselling, or redistributing your API key to third parties
- Attempts to circumvent authentication, rate limiting, or access controls
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
Rate Limits
Each subscription tier carries specific rate limits (requests per day or per month). Limits are enforced automatically. Sustained or intentional violation of rate limits may result in temporary throttling or permanent account suspension.
Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have violated these Terms, engaged in abusive behavior, or pose a risk to the integrity or availability of the Service.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice via email to the address associated with your account or via a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CardAPI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the Service operator is domiciled.
