Quickstart

Every planEverything on this page works on the Free plan (100 calls a day).

CardAPI is a REST API for credit card product data in the US and Canada: fees, reward rates, benefits, offers and eligibility. It is not a payments API. Four steps take you from no account to your first card.

1. Get a free API key

Create a free account. Once your email is confirmed, the portal creates your key; it starts with ck_live_ and is shown once, so copy it somewhere safe. The Free plan needs no card.

2. Make your first request

Send the key as a Bearer token. This fetches one card:

curl "https://api.cardapi.dev/v1/cards/american-express-gold-card" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

3. Read the response

A Free key gets the basic fields and the card's 3 highest reward rates (abridged):

{
  "data": {
    "slug": "american-express-gold-card",
    "name": "American Express® Gold Card",
